GOING PINK TO RAISE REDDIES

This event is to be repeated again in 2011 - date to be confirmed. If you would like to support our pink ladies please let us know.

The whole of The George Centre went pink on Friday 29th October to help raise awareness of breast cancer.

Grantham ladies Stef Howard and Louise Pulfrey of Breakthrough Breast Cancer biked, along with a host of volunteers, over 200 miles - representing the distance between Breakthrough Breast Cancer research centres.

Over £400 was raised for the charity through donations,
a tombola and the sponsored (static) bike ride.

BOP AND SHOP - 15TH MAY 2010

Following its success last year, The George Centre held a one day music festival giving local artists the chance to perform to a local audience. The event held on Saturday 15th May included five performers:

Nigel Truman playing contemporary songs with a classical guitar twist, the sound of Mowtown from soul group Get Ready, stunning vocals from Kelly Borketas, the sound of Abba from Name of the Game and swing numbers from Craig Martini.

Hilary Pearce, The George Centre Manager, commented: "We like to support local artists and this gives them the opportunity to perform in somewhere a little bit different.

The event was very popular last year. It was not only entertaining for those people who specifically came in to watch but was also enjoyed by those who were shopping in The George Centre."
